I had the pleasure of chatting to Jesse from Top Paddock about eggs for a solid half an hour. We really covered all the bases involved in poaching the perfect egg. It’s foolproof, it’s tried and tested, and you can DIY at home (results may vary from above photo). read the step-by-step on Broadsheet here.

Filmme Fatales
Filmme Fatales is the fusing of film and feminism, and the brainchild baby zine of my friend (and former boss lady) Brodie Lancaster. Amongst the cool ladies writing about ‘the 20-something funk’ is a piece by me on the pressure of young women embodying classic literary figures in film: The Pressure of Being Marylou. Here is an excerpt:
To fully embody a character almost means making room...

2Pocket Fairtrade
I’m always amazed when I meet someone who cares so much, that they make their lives about helping those less fortunate. Gregg is one of those guys. His fairtrade cafe/store is super cool, the coffee is great, and he is just an all-round awesome guy. I wrote up a profile on 2Pocket for Broadsheet.
The inspiration for most cafes comes from a love of coffee and hospitality, but the motivation...

For what it's worth..
I was pretty excited to have something published in print the other week, and I got to open up the Melbourne mX on a Friday night and see my face next to words I wrote. Pretty legit, I thought. words by me, published in the mX on Friday, August 17

The Balnaves Gift
I’ve been doing a little interning at my favey fave Melbourne publication Broadsheet, and this is one of my articles about The Balnaves Gift opening at the Mosman Art Gallery.
Mosman’s identity as an idyllic suburb where the bush meets the sea has been recognised artistically via The Balnaves Gift, to be unveiled at the Mosman Art Gallery this weekend.
In a donation from philanthropist...

'We are all Flesh', Berlinde de Bruyckere
I’d heard vague bits and pieces about this exhibition (now showing at the ACCA), and I was intrigued by peoples comments and with how stark and blunt it sounded. I had a free morning yesterday, so I went down to have a look. Bruyckere makes very large, unsettling wax figures. The horse carcasses hung from the high roof like tarnished omens—deformed and looming, almost of another world....

Julia Stone @ The Toff, June 12
words by me, published on EVERGUIDE
Usually, you know someone has had their heart broken when they start crying at things on TV, they avoid any place that may harbour a ‘couple’, or they play Adele too loud and much too often. With Julia Stone, it’s when she writes a song about it. Whether it’s heartbreak, betrayal, bad timing, confusion or a burning desire, you never for a second doubt that...

sometimes I think how insane it is that our lives are so far apart from each other. our lives are self contained, but now that we’re friends we’ve connected two entities—like a bridge between two planets.
